MAGNA DESIGN
A distinguished brand with a proud tradition of manufacturing in the Pacific Northwest. Magna Design, Inc. was founded in Seattle, WA in 1953 to build furniture systems for K-12 learning centers and community colleges and public libraries.

During the 1950’s and 1960’s, Magna became the leading manufacturer of furniture in the educational market serving the Pacific Northwest, Alaska, and Hawaii markets.

Magna Design was acquired in 1972 by Colwell Industries, and later purchased by Thom Sehrer, an officer with Colwell.
Since the 1970’s the company became an industry leader in manufacturing modular casegoods, desking systems, conference room furniture, and healthcare casegoods.

In 2009, Magna Design was acquired by Watson Furniture Group of Poulsbo, WA.

In 2015 Watson sold Magna Design to a new ownership group of furniture industry veterans, and is now in Bellevue, WA. Under this new ownership, Magna Design will continue its legacy of product innovation, service, and quality manufacturing in the Pacific Northwest.
